PRODUCT INFORMATION

Calm Waters is our house decaf coffee. Through our importing partner Cofinet we have been sourcing this fantastic decaf for almost 3 years.

Calm Waters is from Colombia, Popayán which is located in the department of Cauca at 1,700 m.a.s.l. This region's topography is perfect to grow exceptional coffee. This coffee is decaffeinated using the EA Sugarcane method. The caffeine is extracted using a natural by-product of sugar cane and water. This process avoids excessive temperatures and leaves the coffee with enhanced sweetness whilst protecting its inherent flavour profile.

What we love most about Popayan is that it is decaffeinated in Colombia as opposed to being outsourced to different decaffeination plants in Mexico, Canada or Germany, and the profits stay within the country of origin. The washed coffee is sent to Descafecol in Manizales, Caldas to be decaffeinated.

In the cup you can expect juicy red fruits, caramel body and milk chocolate sweetness.

Please note that our decaf coffee may seem a lot darker in colour compared to our other coffees however this isn’t indicative of actual roast level. The darker colour is due to the decaffeination process and is roasted to the same development as our house espressos.
